My art is a reminder that we are all part of something greater than ourselves, woven together by the threads of our collective humanity

I am captivated by the intensity of large-scale pieces, which allow me to use the sweeping motions of my body to create bold, expressive compositions. I am not merely interested in the technical aspects of art-making, but in the visceral experience of creating something that speaks to my soul.

For me, creating art is a way to tap into the deep, primordial emotions that connect us all as human beings. By channeling these raw, unfiltered feelings into my work, I seek to create pieces that resonate with my peers on a profound, spiritual level. My art is a powerful expression of the divine feminine, capturing the essence of the sacred, life-giving force that flows through all of creation. Currently working from my downstairs studio in Metro Detroit, I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of my creativity and exploring new ways to connect with my audience through my art.

Materials
& process

I am constantly exploring new ways to push the boundaries of my creativity. One of my favorite methods of painting involves a soak-stain technique, which allows me to create large, vibrant works of art that are full of movement and depth.

Using this technique, I start by preparing a large canvas or paper with a wash of water with additives to allow the paint to adhere to the surface. Then, I intuitively select a variety of mediums to work with, including acrylic, watercolor, ink, pure pigment, oil sticks, synthetic dyes, oil paint, pastels, charcoal, and anything else I can get my hands on. Each medium has its own unique properties, allowing me to experiment with different textures, colors, and effects.

Once I have my materials ready, I begin to apply them to the wet surface, allowing the colors to blend and bleed into one another. As the painting progresses, I add additional layers and textures, building up the complexity of the piece until it reaches its final form.

The process of creating these large paintings is both exhilarating and meditative. I lose myself in the flow of the materials, allowing my intuition to guide my hand as I work. Every stroke is an opportunity to explore new textures and colors, to push the boundaries of what is possible in abstract art.
